Happy Solar Family - Marrickville

Wow! Here’s a huge thing for the Inner West!

Marrickville resident and Inner West Community Energy member Charlotte Wood has been shortlisted for the Booker prize, the world’s most prestigious prize for literature, for her novel Stone Yard Devotional.

Congratulations Charlotte! She’s the first Aussie to be shortlisted since Richard Flanagan 10 years ago.

So of course we’re excited that she’s been writing away in a house powered by solar. We helped her and her partner Sean McElvogue install a 13-panel, 5.395 kilowatt system in May 2022.

"Being shortlisted for the 2024 Booker prize is without doubt the most exciting thing that's happened since Inner West Community Energy helped Sean and I install our solar system,” Charlotte told us by email yesterday.

“We'd wanted to go solar for years but they helped us make it happen, and our PV system has run without a hitch ever since. Now, we're looking into how we can electrify our Marrickville home and get off gas 100%."

If you’d like our help going solar, we’ll be in Marrickville on the evening of Wednesday, October 16 for another of our popular free Solar Information Nights, starting at 6.30pm.

You’ll hear how we help Inner Westies install quality solar for a fair price, plus one of our installers will be there to answer all your questions about solar, batteries, heat pump hot water and the electrification of everything.

If you’re interested for your home, email solar@innerwestcommunityenergy.org.au and our project manager will get in touch for next steps.

And good luck Charlotte Wood for the 2024 Booker prize!
