It’s a brand new, super-efficient Earthworker/Reclaim electric heat pump hot water system, which will be running on 100% renewable energy from the solar panels now on the roof. The hot water and solar PV systems were partly funded by a grant from the Powering Communities Program facilitated by our local federal MP, Mr Albanese.

The heat pump hot water system is pretty much the greenest technology there is to create hot water. It’ll run each day on a tiny proportion of the electricity generated by the solar panels on the roof.

Pictured above, the 40 Canadian Solar Panels installed on the roof of Styles St Childcare Centre.

Inner West Community Energy is a four-year old community not-for-profit group – not associated with the Inner West Council – working hard to increase the uptake of solar energy in our neighbourhood.
